The assets of share trader Dipendra Agrawal and his business partners have been frozen.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) is investigating Agrawal.
Sources said that during the investigation, Agrawal’s assets, along with those of his family members and business partners (including bank accounts and share accounts), have been frozen.
“As the investigation is ongoing, his accounts and those of other people linked to him have also been frozen,” a source said.
Agrawal has frequently been embroiled in controversies related to share trading.
He was arrested by the CIB on December 19, 2025.
He is accused of publishing misleading information by providing deceptive details, an offense under Section 97(c) of the Securities Act, 2007.
According to Section 97(c), a person is deemed to committed an act of misleading if they make or publish a false or misleading statement, promise, or projection with malafide intention.
The CIB alleged that Agrawal sold shares with such malafide intention and illegally made a profit of Rs 4.92 million.
Agrawal was also accused of using other TMS users to conduct mutual transactions and trading between entities linked to his relatives without changing the actual ownership.
The investigation also found that he had artificially increased the share price of Corporate Development Bank.
A report by the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) found that he had also committed offenses involving false trading and manipulating prices under Sections 94(a) and (b) and Section 95 of the same Act.
Police arrested Agrawal based on the report.
He was later released after posting Rs 4.92 million as bail.
