Over 50 people have taken ill at Pokhari Gaun of Barpak, Gorkha. They have complained of common cold, fever and respiratory complications which have affected from children to aged people.
A team from the Barpak Health Post is providing healthcare facilities visiting the houses of the ill ones, according to Health Post chief Anil Kumar Saha. All the ill are under medication. This is a seasonal viral and among the ill, five have been infected by it since the past 12 days.
The village lies in least three-hour trek from the Barpark Health Post. Though a health facility based in Ranchok of Saurpani is reachable from Pokhari as it takes just half an hour to walk up to there, the Pokhari locals do not prefer visiting the nearby health post, according to Saha.
Though Care Nepal, an NGO, here made a two-room building at the cost of 800,000 after the Gorkha earthquake for the operation of a health clinic, it has not been possible so far due to a lack of quota for health workers.
