Death of pigeons at Barahakshetra baffles locals

The pigeons at Barahakshetra here have started dying one after the other. The Barahakshetra in Sunsari district is a famous pilgrimage site for the Hindus. It is said many pigeons on the roof or the premises of the main temple and other temples in the area have started dying. The temple priest said they do not know why the pigeons are dying like this as the body concerned has not yet ascertained the cause of the birds' death. Bhakta Shrestha, whose house is close to the temple, guessed that the pigeons might have died after feeding on lime at the temple. He said the pigeons look like ill after feeding on the lime and they collapse after some time.
