Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj has removed six employees from duty after they were found to have been involved in an incident in which a woman gave birth outside the hospital’s main gate.
In a letter issued on Friday, the hospital said that Dr Usha Dev, staff nurse Manisha Kumari Sah, staff nurse Sajan Chaudhary, office assistant Renu Thakur, sweeper Krishna Mehtar, and security guard Devkant Jha had been removed from duty until further arrangements were made.
The hospital said that it had taken serious note of the incident after a video showing a woman giving birth outside the hospital’s main gate was posted on social media on September 10.
The hospital has formed a committee to investigate the incident.
It said that other committees had also been formed to investigate the matter.
According to the letter issued by Acting Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Ranjit Kumar Jha, the six employees have been removed from duty until the final reports of the inquiry committees are received and further arrangements are made.
