Fire breaks out at night in Supreme Court’s Archive Section

A fire broke out on Wednesday night at the Archive Section of the Supreme Court, located in the court’s new building.

The fire reportedly started at around midnight.

Some documents were burned in the incident.

Authorities are currently assessing which documents were damaged or destroyed in the fire.

Supreme Court spokesperson and Joint Registrar Arjun Prasad Koirala said that the preliminary assessment was that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

“We suspect the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. We are checking to determine what was burned,” he said.
