According to the Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN), the flood that entered Rasuwa from Tibet on Wednesday morning has damaged 14 hydropower and solar projects being developed by the government and private sector.
According to IPPAN’s preliminary assessment, nine operational and five under-construction projects, for a total of 14 projects, have been damaged by the flood.
The affected projects have a combined capacity of 748 MW, including 354 MW of projects currently generating electricity and 394 MW of projects under construction.
In Rasuwa district, damage has been reported at the Upper Trishuli 1, Rasuwagadhi, Rasuwa Bhotekoshi, Upper Mailung A, Sanjen Khola, Langtang Khola, and Chilime hydropower projects**.
Similarly, projects in Nuwakot district, including Trishuli and Devighat, have also suffered damage.
