The Special Court has ordered the release of businessman Shekhar Golchha on bail of Rs 10 million.
A bench comprising Special Court Chairperson, Judge Basudev Acharya, and members Judges Hemanta Rawal and Bidur Koirala issued the order on Tuesday, directing Golchha to be released after he deposits the bail amount.
“Considering the role and involvement of defendant Shekhar Golchha at this stage, and subject to the findings that may emerge after the evidence is examined, he shall be released on bail of Rs 10 million in cash or an equivalent bank guarantee and remain on the court’s schedule for further proceedings,” the bench said.
The court further ordered that if Golchha fails to provide the required bail amount or guarantee, he should be issued a detention warrant and sent to the prison office concerned.
The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had filed a case against Golchha at the Special Court, seeking recovery of Rs 525 million from him.
