Milan Gurung, also known as Chakre Milan, and his wife Indira Ghale Gurung have been acquitted of money laundering charges.
On Thursday, a bench of Supreme Court Justices Abdul Aziz Musalman and Meghraj Pokharel acquitted both of them.
Earlier, the Special Court had also given them a clean chit on January 24, 2018. The government attorney had then appealed the acquittal decision in the Supreme Court.
The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had filed a case against them alleging that they had illegally amassed property and engaged in money laundering.
The department had demanded recovery of Rs 70.82 million from the Gurung couple and also sought prison sentences for them.
