A fire broke out at a house in Thamel, Kathmandu, on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday at a house located at Buddha Galli, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 26.
According to Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, the fire was brought under control around 11:15 a.m.
Preparations were underway to open a restaurant on the fourth floor of the house, which belongs to Prasanna Rana, said SP Bhattarai. Govinda Bhatta was carrying out decoration work for the restaurant.
The fire was caused by an electrical short circuit during that process.
The fire spread to an adjacent house and caused some damage to it as well. According to police, the full details of the damage are yet to be ascertained.
