The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended the National Private and Boarding Schools’ Association Nepal (N-PABSAN).
In a notice issued on Friday, the ministry said that the suspension would remain in effect until further notice.
The ministry accused the organization of repeatedly failing to comply with its directives and alleged that its office-bearers had acted contrary to the government-approved statute and the organization’s core objectives.
The ministry had convened a discussion with stakeholders on October 9. During the meeting, it urged the organization to comply with the directives issued on November 28 last year. However, citing its failure to follow those instructions, the ministry decided to suspend the organization.
The ministry warned that any activities carried out in the organization’s name by any group or faction following the suspension notice would be considered illegal and would invite legal action.
