Police have obtained permission to keep Durga Prasai, the coordinator of the "Rastra, Rastriyata, Dharma, Sanskriti Tatha Nagarik Bachau Maha Abhiyan," in custody for four days.
On Tuesday, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, granted permission to keep him in custody for four days, said Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
According to Bhattarai, police have begun investigation against Prasai on charges of committing offenses against public peace.
Police arrested Prasai from his residence in Bhaktapur at midnight on Monday.
Prasai had announced a protest movement starting November 23. He has been accused of making statements to incite unrest in society recently.
