A full court meeting of all justices was held at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The full court meeting took place during lunch time on Wednesday, according to the court’s information officer, Niranjan Pandey.
“It’s a meeting held for general discussions. Such meetings happen regularly. Today’s meeting is also routine. There’s nothing special,” he said.
The Constitutional Bench has not been able to convene recently due to a controversy over the lottery system for case assignments. Even after a month, no such meeting has taken place.
Given that the Constitutional Bench has not been sitting, there was speculation that the full court meeting may have been held to resolve this issue.
However, a source said that some agendas were discussed during the meeting.
The meeting included discussions on opinions sought by the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.
According to the source, the ministry had sought opinions regarding amendments to the Legal Aid Act.
