Former IGP Thapa passes away

Kathmandu, April 23

Former inspector general of police (IGP) Durlav Kumar Thapa has passed away.

Nepal Police reported that he died at the age of 96 on Tuesday.

Thapa was born on November 15, 1929.

He served as IGP of Nepal Police from July 1978 to May 1982.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Dinesh Acharya of Nepal Police said that Thapa died at his residence in Patan.

His last rites are scheduled to be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Wednesday.
