A man out of three persons who died with COVID-19-like symptoms in Saptari has tested positive.
Senior public health administrator with the Province 2 Health Directorate Bijay Jha confirmed that the 45-year-old man from Rupani rural municipality 5, who was on home quarantine after returning from Malaysia, has tested positive.
The man was taken to Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Hospital in Rajbiraj on Tuesday after suddenly experiencing difficulty in breathing while at home. He was then referred to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences by the hospital. He had breathed his last Tuesday night while going to Dharan.
Jha said the other two persons, who also had COVID-19-like symptoms before dying, have tested negative.
The COVID-19 death toll in Nepal has now reached 62.
