Another corruption case is set to be filed against former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at the Special Court.
On Tuesday, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) took a corruption case to the Special Court against Nepal and others on the charge of selling land belonging to Rijal Canning Company exceeding the legal ceiling under the guise of a land swap obtaining a Cabinet decision.
“A corruption case concerning the land ceiling issue has been filed, naming Nepal and several other defendants. Verification work is currently underway,” said Parbati Hitan, the Special Court’s information officer.
Further details regarding the case are awaited.
Previously, a corruption case had also been filed against Nepal over allegations that he granted permission for the sale and distribution of land exceeding the legal landholding limit to Patanjali. The case is currently pending in the Special Court.
