COVID-19 infection inside Nepal Police headquarters spreads to 72

The number of persons infected with COVID-19 inside the Nepal Police headquarters has reached 72.

Spokesperson at the headquarters SSP Kuver Kadayat said the infected persons have been admitted at the APF Hospital in Balambu for treatment.

The new infections have been detected following contact tracing of previously infected persons. The infected personnel are of varying ranks but most of them are those working as drivers, mechanics and in mess.

"It has yet to be known how they got infected. They have to work on the field. They may have been infected while going outside but we cannot say for sure from where they got infected," he reasoned.

He added that over 20 more have been quarantined following contact tracing of the infected persons. "The doctors are doing contact tracing. The total number of infection was 44 yesterday morning. It reached 54 in the evening and has again increased now."
