Three persons died of COVID-19 in Birgunj in a single day on Thursday.
Coordinator of the Gandak Hospital in Birgunj Dr Udit Narayan Singh told Setopati that the victims include Indian chief executive officer (CEO) of one Jagadamba Enterprises and two other men from Birgunj.
The 65-year-old Indian man had a chronic heart problem and was admitted after testing positive on July 22. "We had kept him on ventilator since Thursday morning after deficiency of oxygen. But he died at around 11 in the night," Dr Singh said.
The other two include a 35-year-old man and a 75-year-old man. The younger man was admitted at the hospital on Wednesday in febrile condition.
The 75-year-old died at his home and his test later returned positive result.
The death toll in Nepal now has reached 55.
