Police have arrested Raj Kumar Timalsina, who was accused of providing fake audio to sidhakura.com, a news website.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Laxmi Bhandari said that Timalsina was arrested on Sunday by the Area Police Office, Itahari.
DSP Bhandari said that Timalsina was arrested to enforce a court verdict.
"He had been sentenced to six months in prison. The arrest was made to enforce that verdict," he said.
On September 29, 2024, the Supreme Court found the publisher and editor of Sidha Kura guilty of contempt of court.
Publisher Yuvaraj Kandel and Editor Naveen Dhungana were each sentenced to three months in jail. The court stated that if they apologized, their sentence would be reduced to just seven days.
Timalsina, however, was sentenced to six months in prison.
