A man who died at Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) in Sinamangal on Thursday has posthumously tested positive for COVID-19.
The man with kidney conditions had breathed his last on Thursday, according to a hospital source. The hospital had sent his swab for tests after death and the result that arrived Friday evening showed he was infected.
The body has been taken for funeral rites by the Nepal Army Saturday morning.
The man, whose address in the hospital record has been mentioned as Kathmandu, was admitted on July 3 in a critical condition. "He also had cancer on leg and thyroid problems apart from kidney conditions. He has posthumously tested positive," the hospital source elaborated.
This is the 36th COVID-19 death reported by Nepal.
