Seven persons undergoing treatment at the Shahid Ganga Lal National Heart Center have tested positive for COVID-19.
Chief of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division Dr Basu Dev Pandey confirmed that seven patients at the hospital have been infected and added additional details are awaited.
Hospital Director Dr Chandra Mani Adhikari, meanwhile, confirmed infection in the hospital and said the Health Ministry will give further information.
He said all hospital services apart from emergency have been stopped until further notice.
Hospitals inside the Kathmandu Valley are under risk of infection with rising COVID-19 cases in the Valley in recent days. Patients and staffers at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) and the Kathmandu Medical College have also earlier tested positive.
The government citing rising risks in hospitals has said patients in the emergency ward and the Intensive Care Units (ICU) will be tested.
