A man who died at Star Hospital in Sanepa, Lalitpur on Saturday has posthumously tested positive for COVID-19.
The 29-year-old from Rautahat, who was admitted at the hospital at four Saturday afternoon with respiratory problems, breathed his last at eight in the evening. "We had kept him on ventilator suspecting COVID-19 and sent his swab for test," Chief of the corona response team at the hospital Dr Anil Pokharel told Setopati. "He died Saturday evening. His report arrived positive on Sunday."
He revealed that a Nepal Army team will now conduct funeral rites after confirmation of infection.
The man had prior pulmonary problems. He was brought to Kathmandu on an ambulance from Rautahat after he had difficulty in breathing in the previous few days.
This is the 29th COVID-19 death reported in Nepal.
