COVID-19 patient absconds from Janakpur Hospital

A COVID-19 patient has absconded from the isolation ward of Janakpur Hospital in Janakpurdham.

DSP with Dhanusha Police Rameshwore Karki told Setopati that a 40-year-old man from Sarlahi absconded Sunday morning. "The infected person was not in a sound mental state and had repeatedly tried to abscond. He broke the window in the morning and fled," Karki said.

Over 40 persons including the infected ones from Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusha and Siraha are undergoing treatment in the isolation ward of Janakpur Hospital.

Two infected persons had also absconded from the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital in Birgunj earlier. They were later arrested by the police.
