The COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) has briefed Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli about the plan to repatriate Nepalis who want to return home.
The CCMC had presented the plan to immediately repatriate up to 1.35 million Nepalis, including 350,000 from India and a million from other countries by air, at its office in Chhauni. It expects around 15 percent coming from India to be infected with COVID-19.
A source close to CCMC said the plan to take them to their respective homes from the border and the airport was also presented to PM Oli.
"PM Oli has instructed for some amendment in the CCMC's plan," the source stated. "He has instructed to prepare plan on the basis of our quarantine capabilities and the work that the provincial and local governments can do."
