The government has decided to extend nationwide lockdown until June 2.
The Cabinet meeting held in Baluwatar Sunday evening decided to extend the lockdown, that was to expire on May 18, by 15 days, according to a minister.
The High Level Coordination Committee for Prevention and Control of COVID-19 earlier on the day had concluded that nationwide lockdown should be extended further saying its utility remains as large scale infection has been prevented. The committee had also decided to move forward in a way that security arrangements are more effective and delivery of supplies and service is not reduced.
The government had first imposed lockdown on March 24 and that has been extended multiple times.
