The total number of COVID-19 infection in Nepal has crossed 50 with two persons in Birgunj testing positive on Sunday. It has now reached 51.
Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City Bijay Kumar Sarawagi told Setopati that two men from the city were confirmed positive by the National Public Health Laboratory in Teku, Kathmandu.
Both the persons have been isolated at the Narayani Hospital.
Around 180 persons, who had come into contact with three Indians at a mosque in Chhapkaiya who tested positive on April 12, had undergone PCR tests. Two of them have tested positive.
The three Indians have recovered and the hospital is preparing to discharge them.
One of the men confirmed Sunday is a maulana while the other is supervisor of the cleaning staffers of the metropolis.
The total number of infected persons in Nepal has now reached 51. Sixteen of them have already recovered.
