A 31-year-old woman of Budhanilkantha-9, who had returned from Italy, has tested positive in rapid diagnostic tests (RDT).
The woman, who worked in a cruise ship and had returned 28 days back from Italy, was admitted at the Teku Hospital Wednesday evening after she tested positive in RDT earlier on the day.
"We sent her to Teku for PCR test after RDT returned positive result," Mayor of Budhanilkantha Uddhav Prasad Kharel told Setopati.
She has yet to show any symptoms of COVID-19 and claims she was initially in self-quarantine. Doctors at Teku had told her she does not need to be tested as she does not have symptoms when she called the hospital on the 22nd day.
She, however, is understood to have met relatives in the intervening period. She had herself gone to an RDT camp operated by the municipality on Wednesday.
