A writ petition has been filed at Supreme Court, seeking a ban on the indecent activities of Naga baba (naked ascetic) in the name of religion on the occasion of the Mahashivaratri festival.
Advocate Yagyamurti Neupane filed the petition, naming the Office of the Council of Ministers, Home Ministry, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Pashupati Area Development Trust as the defendants.
He mentioned in the petition- bringing Naga babas from abroad, making expense and showing their indecent activities during Shivaratri in Nepal causes mentally adverse effects on women and children. It is against Nepal's constitution, so it needs to be banned.
He further argued that it was conservative and ill practice to have women without children bow down to shivalinga. Such activities conducted in the stupor of the marijuana badly ire gross ill treatment to women and children.
Therefore, such indecent activities of Naga baba must be banned.
