A tourism information center has been set up at Patihani, the touristic area in west Chitwan.
The facility has been operated at Patihani of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22, center's coordinator Kumar Thapaliya said. The center has been constructed by the Bharatpur Metropolitan City at a cost of approximately Rs 700,000.
Tourists visiting the area can now get information regarding the tourism activities with the operation of the center.
Bharatpur Metropolitan City mayor Renu Dahal expressed the confidence that the operation of the tourism information center would contribute to the promotion of tourism and the metropolis has a plan for developing the area into a tourism zone.
Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Ward 22 chairman Bishnu Raj Mahato said Patihani area has much potential for being developed into a tourism destination.
Jeep safari service has been started from Patihani to Sauraha recently for the convenience of tourists. Patihani is a typical Tharu area where the tourists can observe the indigenous Tharu settlements, customs and way of life.
