3 killed, 23 injured in Mahottari road accident

At least three people have been killed, injuring 33 others in a road accident involving a tractor in Ramgopalpur of Mahottari on Tuesday. Satyendra Sah, 40, Ram Babu Mandal, 18, and Sabitri Devi, 45, of Sahasaula of Ramgopalpur municipality-7 have been killed in the accident, informed SP at District Police Office, Mahottari Prakash Malla. Of the total 33 injured, eight have been sent to Janakpur Zonal Hospital and the remaining 25 have returned home after general treatment. The ill-fated tractor heading to Tikuliya from Ramgopalpur municipality after celebrating an outing to mark Saraswati puja on Monday overturned at Thalahi section of road in Ramgopalpur-8, informed SP Malla. He said that the tractor lost its control due to dense fog. DPO Mahottari has further said that the investigation into finding the absconding tractor driver is underway.
