At least four people have been killed in a road accident in Salyan on Monday.
DSP at District Police Office, Salyan Bharat Bahadur BK confirmed two men and two women have been killed on the spot.
According to the chief of Ward Police Office, Lamahi, Laxman Dangi, 30 other injured persons have been sent to Shreenagar of Salyan for treatment.
The deceased have not been identified till this report was filed. Of the total 30 injured, six are said to be in critical condition.
The ill-fated bus belonging to Malika Kalika Transport Pvt Ltd (Na 5 Kha 531) heading from Rukum to Tulasipur of Dang fell off Baighare river at Luham at around 2 pm Monday. The bus met with an accident while taking a turn, according to the police. However, Prabhat Shrestha, a local of Tuham, citing passengers of the bus said high speed and carelessness of the bus driver led to the accident.
"The bus was over speeding. It was merely a mistake of the driver,"Shrestha told Setopati over phone, "There was no turning and the bus skidded off a straight stretch of the road."
The bus fell off some 100 meters below the road.
