Nepal Army (NA) will prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Kathmandu-Nijgadh Fast-Track itself.
Organizing a press conference in the capital on Tuesday, NA said the DPR readied by Indian company IL & FS will not be used and it will prepare the DPR itself.
"The DPR on the project will be prepared by the NA after completing necessary study through the consultants to be hired for detailed engineering," Project's Deputy Director Surya Prasad Khanal said in the press conference.
After a long dispute, the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government had handed over construction of the fast track to the NA on May 4, 2017. Construction of the fast track has gained momentum after that.
At least 331 NA staffers have been mobilized in the field until now while 206 soldiers are deployed to chop off the trees.
Speaking at the press conference, Khanal said that removal of the debris of mudslides along the fast track has also been completed. He further said that heavy equipment, vehicles and other tools purchased by the NA for construction of the fast track have been sent to the field.
