Nepal Student Union (NSU) staged a sit-in in front of Kathmandu Metropolitan City office for an hour, demanding pollution and dust-free Kathmandu.
People's participating in the sit-in had carried out placards reading different message including pollution and dust-free environment our rights, managerial address KMC's concern.
NSU Vice-President Nabin Rai said that the organization has launched the campaign to make Kathmandu pollution and the dust-free city as pollution and dust are the common problems of Kathmandu dwellers.
He said they will launch agitation continuously until Kathmandu becomes pollution and dust-free city.
On the occasion, the NSU also presented dust, collected from various places of Kathmandu, and mask to Deputy-Mayor of KMC, Hari Prabha Khadgi, saying tens of thousands of people have been compelled to walk in polluted and dusty Kathmandu every day due to the negligence of KMC.
Receiving the mask, Deputy mayor Khadgi said that the Kathmandu city has become dusty due to Melamchi Drinking Water Project and added that they have been holding the discussion with bodies concerned in this regard.
