Fire at Antu Cottage destroys property worth over Rs 900,000

A fire has broken out at the Antu Cottage at Shreeantu, Suryodaya municipality-4 of Ilam district Friday morning. The fire which started at 5 am destroyed the storeroom and the bar at the cottage. The cause of the fire is not known. Cottage operator Dharani Ghimire said how the fire started is a mystery. He discounted power leakage and burning of fire as the cause of the fire breakout. He said that the fire destroyed property equivalent to around Rs 950,000. He added that the fire destroyed foodstuff, beverages and clothes, among other goods. Locals and police brought the fire under control in time, preventing its spread to other lodges in the vicinity. An investigation is on in this connection, Chief of the Antu Police Station, Bimal Kumar Niraula, said.
