Four-wheelers will be prohibited from plying on the inner lanes of the Kathmandu valley from January 16.
A meeting of the ward chairs of KMC on January 3 took this decision as the tourists coming to visit religious, historical and archaeological heritage and pedestrians have suffered heavily due to the mobility of the four-wheel vehicles in the inner sides of the town.
"All of us have to make this effort successful for the conservation of historical heritage and also for the expansion of tourist areas," said Kathmandu Metropolis-25 chair Nilkaji Shakya.
The four-wheelers will be banned in and around Indrachowk, Bhedasingh, Jyatha and Mahaboudha.
