EC addresses over 10,000 voters’ grievances through call center

The Election Commission (EC) addressed complaints of around 10,000 voters through its call center based in the commission premises itself. The center addressed a total of 10,469 voters’ grievances relating to the local level, House of Representatives and State Assemblies elections, as said by EC computer officer Shreeram Chhetri. Most of them (4,502) were concerned with the voter name list, 2,512 were related to voter education, 269 were about the code of conduct, 222 related to voting process, 89 about the EC website, seven were about security and 2,866 have been categorized as others. The EC for the first time in its history had brought the call center into operation to deal with public grievances. The center was operated from April 28 to December 15.
