Police on Monday arrested two operators of Blue Star Overseas for swindling job aspirants. A team of Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested operators duo including Ram Ghimire and Sanjay Upetry.
Police informed that they have swindled around Rs 1.065 million from some 26 persons including Osan Giri, a local of Kadambas of Sindhupalchowk by promising foreign jobs in Kuwait. Youths sought help from the police after they did not fulfill their words.
On reaching the company, the team of MPCD found various documents including 371 passports, VISA entry register, demand letters without approval and receipts of payments made by many persons.
The police further said that a case will be lodged in the incident. According to Foreign Employment Act 2064, the manpower companies found guilty may face a fine of Rs 300,000 to 500,000, three to seven years in prison and cancellation of license as well.
