Nepal Academy to observe Prithvi Jayanti

Nepal Academy is to observe the 296th Prithvi Jayanti (birth anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the unifier of modern Nepal) and the National Unity Day by organizing various programs. Information about this was given at a press meet here Sunday. The National Unity Day Main Celebration Committee has been formed under the convenorship of Academy Chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti to make necessary arrangements for the celebrations. The committee comprises representatives from other academies including NepalAcademy of Music and Drama, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts. The Academy is to call on the government to hold a nationwide discussion at the academic circle on the issues of national interests. Prithvi Jayanti falls on Poush 27 in the month of Nepali calendar.
