Minister for Defense Bhimsen Das Pradhan assured to the people affected by the incident of fire that took place at Halesi on January 2 to provide them with necessary relief support.
In the incident, 13 houses were gutted destroying property worth Rs. 51.1 million.
Following a visit to the religious site of Halesi Sunday morning, Pradhan made a phone call from the incident site to high ranking Nepal Army officials for necessary support to the survivors, according to Halesi Tuwachung municipality Mayor Iwan Rai.
Local entrepreneurs Magam Rai, Uchit Bahadur Rai, Tambaraj Rai, Ambaraj Rai and Jagdish Das of Katari, Udayapur lost everything in the fire and are forced to live in temporary shelters in a pitiable condition.
Meanwhile, in another incident of fire that took place last night in the house of Bhim Bahadur Biswakarma in Diktel of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality, property worth Rs 3 million was damaged. Locals with the help of police doused the fire that reportedly originated due to a short circuit, according to District Police Office, Khotang.
