Normal life in the districts of western Nepal, including Bardiya, has been affected by the increasing cold triggered by thick fog and cold wave.
Normal life in Bardiya has been hit due to the excessive cold for the past few days. Students, elderly persons and workers have been most affected due to this.
Similarly, farmers are worried after their vegetable crops including potato, tomato started suffering from disease due to cold wave.
The number of people visiting different health institutions after suffering from different diseases including pneumonia, common cold and respiratory system has increased with increasing cold, said a health worker at Primary Health Centre, Rajapur, Devi Khanal.
Meanwhile, community schools of Kapilvastu have been closed until January 14 due to the increasing cold.
Resource person at Taulihawa Resource Center Ishwor Chandra Gupta said that the schools have been closed for winter vacation as per the academic calendar after conducting half-yearly examinations.
However, schools under Badganga Resource Center would remain closed from coming Sunday, said School Inspector at the District Education Office, Khim Bahadur GC.
