The construction of Kanepokhari-Rangeli postal road of Morang is gaining momentum.
Indian contractor company GVR Infra Project Limited, Chennai had started the road construction in March 2011 and it was obliged to hand over the road to the government in August 2013. But the company pulled out its hand from the construction works after 18 months.
Afterward, Nepali construction company, Danfe the Kanchanjunga Construction Pvt Ltd started blacktopping the road with the grant assistance of Indian government. With this, the project has witnessed substantial progress.
The Kanepokhari-Rangeli postal road, which is to be constructed at the total cost of Rs 702.43 million, has the length of 24.4-km.
According to Regional Planning Chief of the Postal Road Project, Shailendra Mani Tripathi, shared that around 96 % of the works of the project on Kanepokhari-Rangeli road have been completed.
Tripathi further said that according to the MoU signed the company shall hand over the road to the government on June 2019.
