The government will provide monthly allowance of Rs 5,000 to people with damaged kidneys, cancer patients and people with paralysis due to spinal injuries.
The Cabinet meeting Thursday morning has decided to provide the allowance for their livelihood, according to Minister for Information and Communication Mohan Basnet.
The Cabinet has also appointed Dr Pushpa Chaudhary to the vacant post of secretary at the Health Ministry. She was heading the ministry as acting secretary.
The Cabinet has similarly decided to accept the grant of Rs 1.04 billion by the South Korean government for establishing Kathmandu University Research and Development Center in Dhulikhel.
It has also decided to accept loan assistance of around Rs 60.21 billion from the World Bank for success of the Enhanced Vocational Education and Training project.
