The Education Journalists Group (EJG) Nepal has demanded an investigation into the 'suspicious' death of a journalist Tirtha Raj Bhusal.
On November 30, Bhusal, the EJG working committee member and managing director of the Nawalpur FM station, Nawalparasi met with a motorcycle accident at Daunne in Nawalpur and died in the course of treatment at a health institution in Lalitpur later on December 9.
The EJG also concluded that the death of Bhusal was suspicious under the circumstances that the vehicle that hit the motorcycle Bhusal was riding when the accident occurred has yet to be taken under control, the ill-fated motorcycle has not suffered any damage, and the pillion passenger escaped the accident unhurt.
An EJG team including central chairperson Dipak Dahal attended a condolence meeting organized today in the capital on the day of the 13th days after-death ritual and assured the deceased's family that the EJG would initiate efforts to help bring the culprit(s) to book.
Addressing the meeting, Dahal informed that an 'Education Journalism Award' would be established in memory of late Bhusal.
