Embassy of Nepal in Sri Lanka organized a tourism promotion program 'Nepal Night' in collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines Corporation and Nepal Travel and Tour Agents (NATTA) on Friday at Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo.
A large number of Outbound Travel Agents/Tour Operators, diplomats, members of Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka-Nepal Business Council, Sri Lanka-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Chairperson of SAARC Women Entrepreneurs' Council prominent media houses and their representatives attended the program, the Embassy of Nepal in Colombo stated in a press release.
Nepal's ambassador to Sri Lanka, Prof. Bishwambher Pyakuryal delivered the welcome address on the occasion. He expressed that the tourism industry has a major role to boost the economy of the country, and Sri Lanka and Nepal both can benefit from the well-established linkages between the tourism industries of both the countries.
The programme is expected to promote Nepal's tourism in Sri Lanka as there was encouraging participation from Sri Lankan tour operators and the event was covered by prominent media houses in Sri Lanka, the Embassy of Nepal said.
