Proceeds of approximately Rs 1.9 million have been collected in course of the mahayagya, grand religious ceremony, held at the Tripureshwar Shiva temple at Damak-4 in Jhapa district.
The Srimad Bhagawat Dhayanchal Mahayagya religious program organized in the temple premises from November 25 to December 3 collected Rs 1.89 million, according to Punya Prasad Khanal, the vice-president of the temple management committee and the coordinator of the Mahayagya publicity committee.
Khanal said of the total fund collected, Rs 710,282 has been spent for the mahayagya. He said the remaining money would be used for constructing a pilgrims rest house at the place. If the money saved after the construction of the rest house, it would be deposited in the temple fund, it is stated.
