CPN-UML Vice-chairman Bishnu Paudel and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel have expressed support for party Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s political report at the party’s ongoing central committee meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice-chairman Paudel said that the spirit of the chairman’s report was right and that the party should move forward based on the 15 major plans outlined in it. “I support this. We should move forward in this way,” he said.
General Secretary Pokharel also spoke in support of the chairman’s report at the meeting.
"The chairman realized what needed to be realized. Therefore, there is no need for any disagreement on this. We must synthesize the chairman's report and move forward," he said.
According to a leader participating in the meeting, Pokharel also clarified, "I am not trying to become the chairman myself, I do not need to become chairman, nor am I trying to remove the chairman. The kind of interpretation that there was an attempt to remove the chairman was wrong."
Pokharel said the chairman’s report was appropriate and reflected the right spirit, and that the party should move forward by synthesizing and refining it. He also said that the secretariat would meet on Wednesday for this purpose, followed by a central committee meeting.
The central committee meeting is continuing on Tuesday at Bhanimandal in Lalitpur.
