Former Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chairman Kamal Thapa has questioned the authenticity of the letter issued by the party taking action against three lawmakers serving as ministers in Bagmati province.
RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden had sent a letter to the deputy speaker of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly on Monday, informing her that three RPP lawmakers had been removed from their positions.
Posting the letter on Facebook, Thapa questioned on Tuesday whether it was a fake document.
“No meeting of the RPP central executive committee has taken place since August 20. In such a situation, I am surprised at how this decision was made,” Thapa said. “Since the letter does not mention the date on which the meeting was held, I also suspect it might be fake. I hope this is not true.”
There is disagreement within the RPP over supporting the chief minister and joining the provincial government in Bagmati. The Thapa camp had supported the idea of joining the Bagmati government.
Thapa had also expressed disagreement when the party took action against Uddhav Thapa, leader of the RPP parliamentary party in Bagmati.
The RPP has 12 lawmakers in Bagmati province. The party has already removed four of them from office.
