PM Shah to hold separate meetings with Indian and Chinese ambassadors

Prime Minister Balen Shah is set to hold separate one-on-one meetings with the ambassadors of India and China on Monday.

According to the prime minister’s secretariat, PM Shah is scheduled to meet Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava at 11 a.m. on Monday.

Similarly, he will meet Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming at 3 p.m.

PM Shah is preparing to hold separate one-on-one meetings with both ambassadors.

Shah, who took the oath of office as prime minister on March 27, is set to meet the ambassadors of the two countries only four months after assuming office.

Previously, on April 8, PM Shah held a collective meeting with ambassadors of various countries and heads of diplomatic missions in Nepal.

PM Shah had declined to meet Sergio Gor, United States ambassador to India and President Donald Trump’s special envoy for South Asian affairs.

Similarly, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s visit to Nepal was canceled at the last minute after a meeting with PM Shah could not be finalized.
