Former minister Phatte Singh Tharu dies at 88

Kathmandu, July 16

Former minister Phatte Singh Tharu has passed away.

Tharu, who was also a leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), died on Thursday at the age of 88.

RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha confirmed the news of Tharu’s death.

"Former minister Tharu was a distinguished social and political figure," he said.

Tharu served as a minister multiple times, both during the Panchayat era and after the restoration of democracy.
