Manoj Kumar Sharma sworn in as chief justice

President Ram Chandra Paudel has administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma.

President Paudel administered the oath to Chief Justice Sharma during a ceremony held on Tuesday afternoon at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas.

Earlier on Tuesday, President Paudel appointed Sharma as chief justice on the recommendation of the Constitutional Council in accordance with Article 129 (2) of the Constitution.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, Chief Justice Sharma is set to assume office on Tuesday itself.

He was unanimously endorsed as chief justice by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee earlier in the day.
