Amresh Kumar Singh, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker elected from Sarlahi Constituency No. 4, has declined the offer to join the Cabinet.
The RSP had decided to appoint Singh as minister for industry, commerce, and supplies. However, Singh turned down the position, according to his personal secretary, Ranjit Jha.
"He will serve the country as a member of Parliament. He has declined the ministerial post," Jha told Setopati.
In the House of Representatives election held on March 5, Singh defeated Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Balen Shah has formed a 15-member Cabinet. While the names of the other ministers have been finalized, PM Shah has decided to keep the Ministry of Industry under his own leadership for the time being.
